Planning an Afro-European wedding in Brussels: the complete guide
Cocktail, plated buffet or all-in-one: our signature tips for a memorable Afro-European wedding in Brussels.

An Afro-European wedding is the art of blending two culinary heritages into one celebration: African generosity, European elegance. In Brussels, this style has exploded in recent years — and at Deby's Delice, it has been our signature from day one.
1. Pick the right format
Three formats dominate the weddings we run:
- Cocktail / walking dinner: convivial, ideal for 60–200 standing guests.
- All-in-one: welcome cocktail + buffet or dinner. Best value for 80–150 guests.
- Plated buffet or dinner: more formal, perfect for a premium seated wedding or gala dinner.
2. Designing the signature menu
The Afro-European identity lives in the details: a plantain mini-burger amuse-bouche, a plantain lasagna main, mango-passion verrines for dessert. Keep about 70 % familiar bites and 30 % signature surprises.
Halal, vegan, allergens: plan, don't improvise
Always survey your guests' dietary needs. Every Deby's menu has halal and vegan variants validated by chef Deborah — no hidden surcharge.
3. Day-of timing that works
Plan for 30–45 min of welcome cocktail, 2h30 for the served meal and at least 2h of dancing. Our maître d'hôtel coordinates with your DJ so the day never drags.
4. Venue: Etterbeek or elsewhere?
Our Etterbeek venue (EU Quarter) hosts up to 80 standing or 50 seated guests — perfect for an intimate wedding. Beyond that, we travel across Belgium with our full logistics.
5. The real budget of an Afro-European wedding in Brussels
- Cocktail catering: €38–95 / guest
- All-in-one catering: €95–185 / guest
- Plated buffet or dinner: €65–165 / guest
- Service staff: included from Premium tier
- Wedding cake, premium bar, floral decor: à la carte extras
