Corporate buffet in Brussels: delivery or on-site service?

Team lunch, client reception or year-end meal: choose a buffet setup that fits your premises, schedule and guests.

For a corporate buffet in Brussels, the menu and the service setup are separate decisions. Delivery may suit a team with a ready-to-use dining area; a client reception may need setup and staff on site. The aim is to choose a workable arrangement, not to purchase services you do not need.

Delivered buffet: what will your team handle?

Before requesting delivery, appoint someone to receive the dishes. Check the available space, access window and the storage or reheating instructions supplied by the caterer. Who lays out the dishes, presents allergen information and clears up afterwards? These responsibilities do not disappear because food arrives ready to serve.

Buffet setup: separate installation from collection

If you want the caterer to arrange the presentation, specify the available tables and the time the space must be ready. Ask whether crockery, display equipment, setup and collection are included or quoted separately. Setting up a buffet and remaining throughout the meal are different services: have both clarified in the proposal.

On-site service: start with the programme

For a client reception or a meal with several stages, describe guest arrival, speeches and the meal break. Staffing needs depend on the format, equipment and pace. Avoid a universal guests-per-server formula: request an arrangement tailored to your premises and recorded in the quote.

An Afro-European menu that fits the reception

The Deby’s Delice business catalogue introduces buffets and other professional formats. Plantain and cassava creations bring a recognisable identity, while the final selection must take reported dietary requirements into account. Ask the team to check vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free adaptations and allergens before confirmation. Menu selection and quantities are agreed together.

Compare costs on a like-for-like basis

Compare the same quantities and services. Business prices are separate from consumer prices. Food delivered without service, catering with service and other professional services can have different VAT rates: check the VAT-exclusive amounts, VAT lines and VAT-inclusive totals in the catalogue and proposal. Do not apply one rate to the entire event.

A brief that reduces unnecessary back-and-forth

  • Date, address, floor and access conditions.
  • Guest count and length of the lunch break or reception.
  • Hot or cold buffet, available equipment and tables.
  • Delivery only, setup or staffing to be assessed.
  • Allergens, budget and the on-site contact person.

From Etterbeek, travel is assessed for each project. Brussels, Leuven, other Belgian regions and the Benelux have different access requirements. For an event in Paris, Hauts-de-France or central France, provide the address at the first enquiry. These are service destinations, not additional Deby’s Delice establishments.
